Christantus Uche Fuels Comfortable Palace Victory at Irish Side Shelbourne.
Even though embarking on their first-ever continental campaign, Crystal Palace are adapting at a rapid pace. Missing star players like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the London club departed Dublin with a commanding win that all but guarantees them a place in the Conference League playoffs.
A further victory in their upcoming match against Finland's KuPS should be sufficient to secure straight entry to the last 16, especially after a previous setback against Strasbourg.
Fringe Players Grasp the Moment
This match provided a chance for several Palace's fringe talent to impress. Christantus Uche, in only his second start since joining on loan from Getafe, opened the account with a clinical finish. Forward Eddie Nketiah added a second, finding the net for the second game in succession.
The Shelbourne side that had concluded their league season were outmatched even for a mostly second-string Palace lineup. The Londoners were further depleted by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with knee injuries.

The match was as good as over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past some comically weak challenges before coolly dispatching a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.
After the break, coach Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to rest key players like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse almost scoring with his very first touch, only to see his shot blocked.
Esse was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one shot crash off each posts before being gathered on the line. Uche then blazed a glaring chance, showing there is still room for improvement in his game.
A solitary concern for Palace was a second-half injury to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This paved the way for 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to make his senior debut, capping an otherwise perfect evening for the traveling side.
